A practical, field-first avalanche course tailored to your experience. We build a clear decision process for real days out: terrain recognition, weather & snowpack clues, avalanche problems, and fast, effective companion rescue. From beginner to seasoned tourer—there’s always more to learn.

In my opinion, this should be done as a refresher every season!

About the course
Snow and avalanches are my professional obsession—and a genuine fascination. I’ll meet you where you are, whether you’re brand-new to touring or very experienced, and teach what actually changes your decisions in the field.

What you’ll learn

Decision framework you can use tomorrow
Terrain recognition: traps, safe options, micro-aspects, wind signs
Weather & snowpack: reading bulletins, layers, avalanche problem types
Human factors: group dynamics, heuristics, communication
Companion rescue: beacon search, probing, strategic shoveling, timings

Format options

1 day: rescue refresher + terrain/decision tune-up
2 days: full fundamentals with lots of field time
3 days: deeper snowpack study + complex terrain scenarios
Small ratios, mostly outdoors; short, focused theory blocks support the fieldwork.

Who it’s for
Ski tourers & splitboarders who want clearer decisions and cleaner systems. You should be comfortable moving on touring gear for a full day.
